Ford Edsel Citation – 1958

Heideveld Classics is offering now a very unique and rare 1958 Ford Edsel Citation. There were only 930 pieces produced of this model and it is estimated that approx. only 110 pieces are left over. The model Citation was the flaggship of the Ford Edsels, the most luxious and most expensive model. The condition of our Ford Edsel Citation is really great. We have bought this car from the first owner and it has all historic invoices with it. This car has not been driving anymore since 1962. In the meantime we drove already the first meters with this car and we are very very enthusiast! This car still has the firs original paint and the original upholstery is also still in very nice condition. Ford Edsel offered different functions, which for those days were considered very innovative, such as the rolling-dome speedometer and the pressbutton Teletouch-gearingsystem in the middle of the steering wheel. Despite its well discussed entry on the market and many many dollars investment of Ford, the Edsel was not that successfull as the Ford supervisors hoped for. After only 3 years the production of the Edsels was stopped. However, in the past 5 decades the public opinion about the Edsel has changed drasticly because of many car enthusiasts consider every Ford Edsel that survived as a very beloved classic car.
