Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2.0 – 1977

Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2.0, year 1977 (First registration 13 December 1977). Chassis number AR*11655*0027042*, engine number AR*01623*053087*. Colour Ivory (Avorio, AR code 103) combined with a brown/ cognac coloured interior. This fantastic Alfa Romeo Alfetta was sold new in Campegine (RE), Italy to Mr. D. Attolini. This is the first series Alfetta 2.0 which was introduced on the Geneva motor Show in 1977. The new Alfetta 4-door saloon model differed from the 1800 and 1600 with a completely redesigned nose, rectangular head lamps, and a fully redesigned modern interior with better materials. Only the 1977 cars featured a dashboard with horizontal aluminium strip and ‘2000’ in the centre. In 1978 this was changed to a plastic ‘wood’ strip without the 2000 marking. The Alfa Romeo Alfetta is one of the best-balanced, and best driving, sporty 4-door saloon cars of the period. The layout with front engine and transaxle gearbox located near the rear axle makes that the Alfetta has a near ideal weight distribution. The full aluminium engine with twin overhead camshafts, the five-speed gearbox, and the De Dion rear axle, complete the sporty background of the Alfetta. This wonderful and fully original example is in an excellent condition inside and out! The odometer shows 93.177 kilometres. The car comes complete with the original service book and instruction book. Also included is a ‘log-book’ in which the previous owner(s) have kept track of important updates. The history is documented from day 1, service invoices are also present. Recent work was carried out perfectly by the last owner; At 86,880 km (February 2022) fluids were changed, engine oil (including filter) and gearbox oil. At 87,680 km (June 2022) the air filter was replaced. At 87,850 km (October 2022) the valve cover gasket was replaced, both track rods were renewed, and the wheels/ steering was aligned. New original Brembo disc brakes were fitted, new brake pads, and the brake oil was changed (DOT 4). This Alfa Romeo Alfetta with the ‘1977 only’ dashboard style is a true time capsule in excellent condition, a fantastic find for the Alfa Romeo collector and enthusiast.
