Porsche 911 RWB Europe – 1990

Rarely Offered 1990 911/964-based “Rauh Welt Begriff” Porsche

9.8, 9.8, 9.8, 9.8, 9.8.
These are the numbers our RWB Europe #7 racing monster was awarded on all its aspects in the latest expert appraisal document.
Terms like “Excellent to Concours condition” were used. But all the above is not why this car impresses the real driver.

Beyond its “wild” appearance, this Rauh Welt Begriff is a true performance beast. The build by “Vianen Car Refinish” was not only intended to impress with its looks (and it does impress!) but also to deliver raw power and focused handling qualities. The objective: build a car that can be driven to its limits. And it looks like “John V” followed instructions and got the job done — which is an understatement.

Performance:
Base Car: 1990 Porsche 911/964 Carrera 2
This RWB has 300+ BHP. The engine was fully rebuilt, updated with a racing crankshaft and a 993 air intake system. A calibrated APP stainless exhaust system finally got the 3.6 Carrera 2 flat-six where it needed to be.

Handling:

The 964 Turbo brake systems provide stopping power, and a fully adjustable JRZ undercarriage combined with custom-made PUR wheels wrapped in Toyo Triple Air rubber ensures correct balance. The clutch system taken from a Porsche 964 RS, coupled with the fully revised gearbox, makes sure the car goes through its gears easily on the track as well as on the road. For weight improvement, a carbon fiber roof was installed. In the hands of an avid driver, this car will corner like it’s on rails. An air lift system on the front wheels was installed so the car can also navigate in an urban setting.

Exterior:

Of course, we need to address the elephant in the room: the impressive RWB body kit. Designed for the Porsche 964, it is a masterpiece. The current owner chose to smooth out the Rauh Welt kit for a different look. Akira Nakai gracefully came over twice personally — the first time to finish the body kit and the second time to do the handling setup. The smoothed-out body kit, the beautiful Grand Prix white paint, the 3.8 RS wing, and PUR wheels are a stunning combination.

Interior:

The interior is everything you can expect from a race car for the road, with luckily still a hint of the base car’s luxuries like power windows. You look at the usual Porsche 964 clocks, which tell you everything you need to know. Only the added kill switch is different. A removable racing steering wheel was mounted. For seating, the choice fell on lightweight carbon Recaro seats, which keep you tightly in place while cornering at 5G. For safety, a certified racing roll cage was installed, which you should never need with these magnificent road-going qualities.
