In a nutshell, the Volkswagen Golf Rallye is a very unique car. It is based on the well-known Golf MK2. Therefore, it is similar in appearance. But when you take a deeper look at it, you get to see what makes this Golf Rallye special.
Firstly, it is equipped with Volkswagen’s well-known 1.8 8V engine block with G-charger. This consists of an in-line four-cylinder with a displacement of 1763cc. This was originally 1781cc, but this capacity had to be lowered due to FIA (World motor sport) regulations. It produces around 161hp along with 225nm of torque. In addition, the Rallye-Golf “Syncro” has permanent all-wheel drive.
The interesting aspects of the car do not stop at the engine block. In the bodywork, there is much to be found that makes this car unique. For starters, the Golf is finished in a sleek “Schwarz” paint. Both the bumpers and the grille are done in the body colour. The entire car has been repainted in its original colour. The interior includes “Grau-Schwarz-Rot” Recaro sports seats. Also known as Sportkaro. These consist of a combination of leather and fabric. Like the paintwork, these are in clean condition. The black over black colour combination is a timeless one. From factory, it is fitted with 15-inch VW Sebring rims and sporty rear and front spoiler can be found. This helps with cooling the brakes. The widened wheel arches both front and rear give the Golf a sporty look.
The car comes with interesting options:
– Sunroof
– Electronically controlled ABS
– Sports suspension
– Front & rear spoiler
– Electrically adjustable seats
– Radio preparation with 4 speakers
– Volkswagen Beta radio
– Fog lights
This German hatchback has been well maintained. This is also reflected in its condition. Many different technical components have been renewed or overhauled. These include:
– Timing belt
– Clutch cylinder
– Starter motor
– Alternator
– G-charger
– Water pump
– Muffler
– Front brake calipers
– Brake pads and discs
– Power steering pump + hydraulic hose
– Oil, oil filter, spark plugs, cables, air filter, distributor cap
Apart from this, there are other parts that have been renewed. Care has been taken to ensure that the car is not only optically but also technically in very good condition. In terms of documentation, various papers are present. These include manuals and Dekra/TÜV reports.
