Alfa Romeo Alfasud – 1979

The Alfa Romeo Alfasud,

Year of construction in 1979. First registration 4 May 1979. Chassis number AS5305230, engine number S30102*166137*. Exterior white (Bianco Capodimonte AR015) combined with a dark brown leatherette interior finished with dark brown carpet.

This beautiful Alfasud was sold new in Italy to a Mr. Francesco de Pinto who lived in Bari. Many decades later, this super original Alfasud was sold to the president of the Alfa Romeo (Old Car) club, Mr. M. Borsella. Borsella.

Recently, Montagna d’Oro bought some beautiful cars from Mr Borsella’s collection, including this beautiful Alfasud. The odometer is currently at 59,162 kilometers, the car is in an excellent and super original condition and the car drives great!

The Alfa Romeo Alfasud was introduced in 1971. The Alfasud was a groundbreaking compact family car that meant a major change for Alfa Romeo.

The car was developed by engineer Rudolf Hruska and the car was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Alfasud was produced in a new factory in Pomigliano d’Arco, southern Italy – hence the name Alfasud.

The Alfasud was equipped with innovative technology, including a boxer engine and front-wheel drive, which contributed to the excellent road holding and low centre of gravity. The aerodynamic design and affordability made it popular among buyers. Unfortunately, the Alfasud’s bodywork was very sensitive to rust, so not many cars have been preserved.

This problem affected Alfasud’s reputation, despite mechanical genius. Original survivors like this one are extremely rare and highly sought after by Alfa Romeo enthusiasts and collectors due to its appearance, driving characteristics and rarity.
