Land Rover 88 IIa CoolnVintage – 1966

Land Rover 88 Series IIA, year 1966. Body colour pale green combined with light beige leather seats, black protective mats, and beige weather equipment.
This magnificent Land Rover 88 was fully restored and improved by Cool N Vintage in Lisbon Portugal. This wonderful British icon is now better built and finished than ever before.
This car was fully restored by hand for a client by Cool N Vintage and the car bears restoration number 124.
Since completion the car has driven 450 kilometres, this wonderful Land Rover 88 is in a like new top condition!
The restoration and the overhaul of the mechanical parts were executed to very high standards.
The chassis was stripped of paint, sand blasted and given a special black coating.
The 2.25 litre four-cylinder in-line petrol engine was fully overhauled, and the moving parts were balanced. An aluminium radiator was fitted, as was en electric cooling fan.
The drivetrain was rebuilt to modern perfection and a modern five-speed manually operated gearbox was fitted. The suspension was rebuilt with special leaf springs and special shock dampers with oil-cooling chambers.
The brake system was upgraded with disc brakes around and a brake servo.
The steering was upgraded with power steering.
Larger rims were added shod with large Goodyear Wrangler 235/85-16 off-road tyres.
In the interior everything was left basic with only a few luxury touches; The doors were given leather door trim, three leather seats were installed and the steering wheel was clad in leather.
The driving experience is like it should be in a classic Land Rover, but now more refined, smoother, more communicative, and with less engine- and transmission noise.
