This MG TD was built on 19 May 1952 and we were able to acquire it from a true enthusiast. In 2006, this beautiful MG TD underwent a complete restoration, detailed photos of which attest to the craftsmanship that went into it. No expense was spared to make this TD driveable and reliable. The chassis and bodywork have a damage-free and rust-free past. The MG was delivered new in America. Due to the dry climate, the car has remained good and original. The last owner in America owned the MG for more than 20 years. This owner has kept track of all repairs on handwritten notes, as well as all original invoices.

This MG TD is timeless and unique, with its deep black paint, vibrant red leather interior and beige linen soft-top. The black carpets and original wooden dashboard add to the luxurious feel of the interior. New 15-inch coated multi-spoke wheels with matching wing nuts. The red grille matches the red interior, just as the designer conceived it. The restoration has ensured perfect hardware and a high-quality look.

Under the bonnet you will find a powerful 1250cc 4-cylinder engine. The 4-speed manual transmission has been replaced by a 5-speed gearbox which ensures that the driving experience is much more relaxed. In short, plenty of power and excellent performance.

The trunk rack, headlight guards, tonneau cover, side windows, the two extra yellow fog lights and the Nicson manifold are nice accessories that will make your touring trips even more enjoyable and easy.

This MG TD is well documented, with several instruction books, manuals, invoices, valuation reports and registration papers. Even a 1984 ‘Certificate of Title’ from Illinois, USA, is available.
Recent work includes all-round Michelin tyres (including spare wheel), major engine improvements and a comprehensive overall inspection. These indicate as follows:

– Modification kit rear crankshaft seal fitted
– Front crankshaft oil seal fitted
– New crankshaft pulley fitted
– New water pump fitted
– Modified wiring for ignition coil
– Bolts in flexible clutch steering shaft modified
– New V-belt fitted
– Tension support aligned
– New oil filter & exhaust rubber

The MG TD exudes class and style. Came on the market in 1950 and was the successor to the MG TC. As with the MG TC, America was the TD’s main market. Chassis and bodywork of the TD were broadly similar to those of the TC, however, the TD had rack-and-pinion steering and independent front suspension. The wings were different in shape as the TC’s large 19-inch wire wheels had given way to 15-inch wheels. The MG TD was built until 1953 and succeeded by the MG TF.

This 1952 MG TD is not just a car, but a work of art on wheels. If you are looking for a timeless classic with history and style. This is an opportunity not to be missed to own a piece of automotive history.
