Rover SD1 2.6 S – 1979

Unique Rover SD1 from 2nd owner

This Rover SD1 is truly unique in the Netherlands. It is the only one with a 2600 6-cylinder in-line engine and automatic transmission, as we understood from the previous owner. He bought the car from the first owner. He had parked the car in his garage after using it for a while for later. That moment has not come for the owner, the new owner has bought the car and started working with the car. And that’s important info, because quite a bit has been replaced since the resurrection. At the time of purchase, the car already had a new lower block, so the engine is nice and fresh. But everything around it has almost been replaced because of the standstill. The brakes, radiator, master brake cylinder with brake booster, hoses, shock absorbers (new Koni’s), of course the tires and many other small things. After that the car was driven nicely, and he does that wonderfully! It is not inferior to the V8, actually runs better because of the 6 line that is nicely balanced. Automatic transmission shifts like new. In the car you feel like you are in a time capsule. This was the car of the year 1977, how futuristic that must have been then. It now looks like a concept car. You get a wonderful warm feeling in the car. The paint of the car is largely original, Mexico brown. The paint has been touched up and sprayed here and there and then professionally polished. It looks very good from normal viewing distance, up close you will discover patina. No rust! The bottom is also rock hard. We have driven it extensively ourselves, with great pleasure! In the car you feel like you are in a time capsule.
