This BMW 323i Touring was bought new from BMW Den Haag on 23-01-1998. The brand new owner received a business card with a personal message from the then managing director of BMW Netherlands. He wished her much driving pleasure. The card has been carefully kept with the maintenance history all these years; it clearly made an impression.

That the choice fell on BMW was certainly no coincidence. Among many other impressive positions, her husband was also a member of the supervisory board at BMW (from 1994 to 2002). He undoubtedly moved around in a BMW himself in those days. A chic ‘ton sur ton’ colour scheme was chosen for the 323i Touring with automatic transmission: silver grey on the outside combined with a light grey interior, complemented by beautiful wood trim and a leather steering wheel. Moreover, the bolide is equipped with key options like cruise control, climate control, electric windows, central locking, alarm system, rear parking sensors etc.

A ‘car for the road’ with class, in other words. That it has been used as a second car can be clearly seen from the very low odometer reading of 90,321 km (with NAP, of course), the history of the car, its uniquely clean condition and the special balanced composition without excessive luxury. The ST-FV-54 was registered in the husband’s name on 23-1-1998. After 21 years, the car was transferred to her name on 5-9-2018. All these years, the BMW has also been faithfully maintained at BMW The Hague, where it was delivered new. Partly because of this, it is technically in very good condition. After the owner passed away, the car was taken over by the daughter, who cherished it until 2023. Two drivers, one family. The car is still in very clean condition and has Michelin tyres.

The 3-series E36 was the third generation 3-series and succeeded the popular E30 in 1990. In 1999, the E36 was succeeded by the E46 generation. The E36 generation came in many different body shapes: the 4-door sedan, 2-door coupé, 2-door hatchback/compact, convertible and 5-door touring. Thanks to many motorisations, power could rise from 99 hp to as much as 321 hp in the M3. The 323i with a 2.5-litre 6-cylinder inline engine is a popular engine because of its tremendous smoothness and reliability. It accounts for 170 hp, allowing the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 223 km/h. Thanks to this performance, the model is particularly popular among young people. Many examples have therefore been modified, tuned or abused on the racetrack. A neat, original E36 with limited mileage has therefore become a rarity.
