Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.3 HF – 1968

Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.3 HF, 1968 (first registration 16 February 1968). Chassis (VIN) number 818.342.001.314, engine number 818.342.*1576*. Colour dark red (Rosso Chester) combined with a black interior. This magnificent Lancia Fulvia was sold new in Italy, the first owner was a Mr. G.M.P. Piutus from Bovisio. The Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.3 HF is a rare and special competition car, only 882 examples were built from 1967 until 1969. The “Rally HF” model was built lightweight with a bodywork of thinner gauge steel, aluminium for the bonnet, aluminium door skinning, and Perspex rear windows. The weight was reduced to 825 kilogrammes, 125 kg less than a standard Lancia Fulvia. The 1298 cc. V4 engine received competition tuning to 100 hp with a new cylinder head design, large valves, modified camshafts, modified intake/exhaust manifolds, two twin choke Solex C35 PHH carburettors and a lightweight flywheel. This magnificent example was extensively restored, overhauled and upgraded with high quality parts. Everything on the car is new, costs nor effort were spared aiming for perfection. For example, all the hose clamps and eye-catching nuts and bolts are made of T304 stainless steel. All subframe rubbers are made of better “shore” quality, type 90-92. The leaf springs were renewed including the intermediate plastic filter strips, and the carburettors were overhauled by the Italian specialist Accornero Servofreni in Turin. Of course, all the bodywork rubbers were renewed, the wiring loom was renewed, T304 stainless steel brake callipers were fitted (complete with bridge tubes), and Koni-Vintage adjustable shock absorbers were mounted. Further upgrades: 2 x Spal lightweight “sucker” cooling fans with sensor in the radiator and override switch on the dashboard, cooling fans, spot lamps, and starter motor all have their own relays, alternator mounted with 480 watts minimum output (no voltage regulator). The preceding details make clear that this rare Fulvia Rallye 1.3 HF was completed to top class specifications. The original steel wheels with welded rims wheels are not safe for “fast-road” use anymore, therefore modern alternatives are fitted. The car is in a superb top condition and is fully up to date. This is a rare Lancia Fulvia Coupé Rallye 1.3 HF for the serious Lancia enthusiast/collector!
