Porsche 914-6 – 1970

The Porsche 914-6, launched in 1970, was a bold departure from Porsche tradition. It was a mid-engine sports car developed in collaboration with Volkswagen. While the base 914 models had less power, this 914-6 Roadster packed a 2.7RS flat-six engine from the 911, turning this lightweight chassis into a true performance machine! With it’s sharp handling and low center of gravity, it became a formidable competitor in motorsport.

This example is signed by Jürgen Barth, a racing driver and Porsche engineer who helped bring glory to many overlooked models. Barth had a deep technical understanding of Porsche machinery and played a key role in developing and driving various competition cars. He drove a 914-6 GT in endurance racing.Though the 914-6 was produced in limited numbers and often underestimated, drivers like Barth helped create its legacy as a true driver’s car and a worthy place in Porsche history.
