Although the Porsche 924 is known as a ‘cheap’ Porsche, the limited Carrera GT cost no less than 108,800 guilders new in 1981. Only the 930 Turbo cost more. This example – no. 331 of only 406 built – was delivered on April 2, 1981 by ‘Gottfried Schultz Sportwagen GmbH & Co’ in Essen, Germany. The original purchase invoice is still present! The car was maintained at the same dealer until 1988 and was then imported to the Netherlands. The first Dutch owner only sold the Porsche in 2017 to the last owner: a true Porsche enthusiast with a collection of special and rare Porsches. With its bright red color ‘Indian Rot/Guards Red’ (recently fully professionally polished), forged black Fuchs rims, Carrera GT stickers and flared wheel arches, it has a striking and sturdy appearance. The Porsche stickers under the doors are original and very rare. Distinctive options include a digital radio, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and a rear window wiper. In 2021, a maintenance service was carried out at a mileage of 129,577 km, during which the timing belt was replaced. The following original documentation is present with the car: a German sales brochure for the 924 Carrera GT from 1980, the delivery invoice, the service booklet and maintenance booklet, the workshop manual and the Dutch import papers from 1988.
The condition is very nice with a damage-free past, no rust formation. and good rubbers. The mileage is relatively low. A good copy is becoming increasingly scarce and is popular among collectors, prices are rising and that also makes the car interesting for investors.

General information about the 924 Carrera GT
In the 1970s, Porsche had less and less confidence in the ‘old-fashioned’ 911 and other models had to copy the success of this model. In 1976, the affordable 924 was therefore introduced as a successor to the 914, which was collaborated with Audi. The model provided at the time for a necessary increase in turnover. Without this model, Porsche would probably no longer exist today… To give the 924 with Audi engine a sportier image, the Turbo version was introduced and Porsche entered the GT3 with a racing version. it was required that more than 400 copies had to be built, and so the Carrera GT was born. This model has a refined and lighter body, and finely honed suspension and a reamed and improved engine: the 2-liter engine with turbo delivers 210 hp reaching a top speed of 240 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. This makes the light (1,143 kg) 924 even faster than the naturally aspirated 911 SC of that time! It was only supplied in silver, black and red, of which red is the most popular color.
