Some cars are fun just because you hardly ever see them driving anymore: this Renault 19 16V Cabriolet is a prime example. The convertible version is already rare, but the smooth 16-valve with 135 hp is even more so. This is a facelift (Phase II) that was delivered new in Germany on 16 October 1992. The original booklets are still present and the mileage has accumulated to just 130,000 km over all these years. The first owner in Germany must have been a lover of the special design. This design came from the hand of Giugaro and the car was built by Karmann. In 1998, the Renault was imported to the Netherlands, where it had only two owners. It is in nice and original condition and drives well: the spirited 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine with 5-speed manual gearbox takes the car to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. Besides sporty, the car is also comfortable as a French car should be. This is evident in, among other things, well-seated seats and fine suspension. The interior features include a radio/CD player and seat heating. In short: a rare, sporty, comfortable, affordable convertible in beautiful original condition.

General information about the Renault 19 Cabriolet
The Renault 19 was built from 1988 to 1997 and was the predecessor of the Mégane. The rarer cabriolet version with 4 seats was built by Karmann and the 16V was the top version of the 19 model and has a sportier front end, recognisable among other things by a modified front bumper, headlights and air intake in the bonnet. In 1992, the model received an extensive facelift, giving it a considerably more modern and fresh look. Few examples were built and a nice and original one is becoming increasingly scarce and sought-after.
