This Mercedes 280SL Pagode was delivered to Mercedes-Benz Ste des Grand Garages Mediterraneens in Nice on November 13th 1969. It is here that the car was first registered in 1971. This is backed up by the original maintenance manual. The car has a lot of documented service history dating back to 1993. In 1998 the car was exported to the Netherlands.
The car is finished in DB180 Silbergrau with a black soft top roof and DB135 MB-Tex Blau upholstery. This colour combination gives the car a sporty, yet elegant look. Both the in- and exterior of the car are in perfect condition and the car is of course delivered including the factory original, black hard top roof.
The car has only done 89.485 kilometres (55603 miles) and looks great. In 2013 it had a complete engine rebuild with a combined cost of nearly 10.000 euros. At the time the car was also fitted with a stainless steel exhaust.
The 280SL is sometimes described as being the ultimate W113 and this car completely delivers on that promise, both cosmetically and technically.
